FORGOTTEN LOVE - A BOOK OF POEMS - I
THE WAIT
I wait for you in this headspace
Blind faith in you
I wait for your arrival as days go by
They say you came one day,
But I was gone, my hair having turned gray
We are a memory of another world
One where I waited till you came or
One where you did not make me wait.
WHERE ARE WE?
There is me and
There is you
But where am I? And
Where are you?
We are lost yet we are here
In circles we go
Back at the same place we began
There is me and
There is you. But
Where am I? And
Where are you?
TRAPPED
I see our Love
Trapped in a box
So radiant we cannot lose it
So we keep it trapped
Ours forever in this box
And in that box
Our Love starts to rot
And in that box
Our Love will turn to hate
No longer radiant, we have lost
And be each gone our separate way.
MEMORY
You are but a memory
Of happiness I once felt
You are but a memory
Of a yearning I once had
You are but a memory
Of a deep connection
Felt beyond worlds
Beyond words
Beyond dreams
And there you stay
Beyond everything that exists
Perhaps to never be felt again.
WICKED HOPE
Hope- you wicked gleam,
I wish I could not invite you in.
Yet from the depths of my soul you rise
Like a phoenix, so much promise.
But truth be told,
You care not for the outcome,
You rise to simply exist
Marking you place in our lives,
Lives you care nothing for.
LOVE WITHOUT FRIENDSHIP
I bare my darkness for you to see
I bare my fears for you to know
I’m curious of this inner world
Where thoughts, emotions and feeling
Do a number with the gut
You use my words against me
Because you cleverly hid yours
I shall weep, not for me
But our friendship that now feels like it never was.
Gypsy at heart, The Senti-Mentalist recalls her memory as a young girl in her early teens, alone in her bed at night, way past her bedtime, with a torch under her blanket, glued to her book, hoping her mother doesn’t catch her awake, reading and drifting away to other worlds instead of getting a good night’s sleep before school the next day.
