A LOVE NAMED CALA LILLY
They call you a flower -
‘A species in the family Araceae, native to southern Africa’
But to me, you are so much more.
For I have breathed in your fragrance,
woven it into my soul, on a
warm winter sunrise.
While the first rays of the sun bathed my body, washing away the morning chill,
My fingers caressed your blush textured form.
And like the fuzz of hand spun wool against my cheek,
You tickled my senses, while the birds chirped songs of innocence.
You invite me to lean in, to look into the depths of your heart.
With no desire to hide from me,
Your curves lead me to the infinite nature of your soul.
And in your centre, I find mine.
A moment of pure ecstasy of being.
For me, you will never be simply a name.
Like me, you too are an expression of life
A kind of love, waiting to be experienced.

Sam enjoys looking for wonder in the synchronised dance between inward and outward experiences of life. She weaves stories about how that which is termed as ‘the other’ or the ‘outward experience’ seamlessly comes to merge with that which is termed as ‘the self” or the ‘inward experience’
